Undefeated Danbury remains the unanimous choice as the No. 1 team in Connecticut Wrestling Online’s top 10 weekly poll.
There were no new schools in this week’s top 10 poll but seven of the top 10 teams moved with the poll. Xavier (4-0) won their own Colter Abely Midseason Classic on Saturday and moved up two spots to No. 4. Trumbull (11-5) moved up two spots to No. 8 with a win over Brien McMahon and a fourth place finish at the Colter Abely Midseason Classic.
Bristol Central (16-0) moved up one spot to No. 7. The Rams beat Middletown on Wednesday, 44-27 before winning three matches on Saturday morning at the East Haven Duals. The Rams had to leave the tournament before it was completed to get home safely before snow began in Connecticut on Saturday afternoon.
The top three teams remained the same. Danbury (7-0) had four wins by beating perennial Vermont state champion Mount Anthony Union on Monday, 49-21 and winning three matches on one night last week with victories over Westhill, 60-18, Weston, 72-6 and New Milford, 74-6.
Simsbury (4-0) was second at Colter Abely and remains ranked No. 2 but just two points ahead of No. 3 Fairfield Warde (6-0) that had the weekend off because the school administration kept the team home for safety reasons due to Saturday’s snowstorm.
