Danbury remains No. 1 in state top 10 poll

DANBURY, February 5 — Danbury (11-3) is still the No. 1 team in Connecticut Wrestling Online’s top 10 wrestling poll but the Hatters were pushed by New Milford on Saturday in a 33-31 victory. With the strong effort, New Milford (8-1) moved up two spots to No. 4 in the poll. Undefeated Bristol Eastern (14-0) remains at No. 2, where they have been all season. Fairfield Warde (17-1), whose only loss is to Danbury, remains at No. 3. Southington (12-2) slipped one notch to No. 5. Hand-Madison joined the top 10 this week. Hand lost to No. 8 Xavier last week but had three other victories including wins over then-No. 10 Windham, Ledyard and Waterford.
