No. 3 Fairfield Warde wins FCIAC East flag

FAIRFIELD, February 6 — No. 3 Fairfield Warde beat Staples, 63-18 to close out the regular season with a record of 18-1 and the FCIAC East championship for the 13th straight year. The Mustangs only loss came to No. 1 Danbury. …Enfield (8-10, 5-0 CCC East) won their first league title since 2000 with a pair of wins on Tuesday over East Catholic, 43-24, and RHAM, 48-33. Enfield had three pins and four decisions in the win over East Catholic and took advantage of seven forfeits to beat RHAM. …  Westhill-Stamford used four forfeits to slip past Wilton, 42-32. … No. 6 Trumbull beat Brien McMahon-Norwalk, 51-22 to finish the regular season with a record of 26-3. … No. 9 Montville beat No. 6 Killingly on Monday night, 54-18 as Killingly (31-2) rested several starters with the ECC Tournament just a few days. The two-day ECC Tournament begins Friday at St. Bernard. … New London (9-6, 4-0 ECC Div. I) swept East Lyme, 82-0, and Fitch, 57-24 on Monday night to finish the regular season undefeated in ECC Division I.
