The most recent National Wrestling Coaches Association NCAA women’s wrestling poll for tournament power index rankings have been released by the NWCA.
This is a tournament power index ranking. This poll is not based on a team’s dual meet strength. Points are earned by individual rankings with the No. 1 ranking worth 15 points, No. 2 worth 12 points, No. 3 (10), No. 4 (9), No. 5 (7), No. 6 (6), No. 7 (4) and No. 8 (3).
Five Sacred Heart wrestlers are ranked in the top 10 of their respective weight classes. Alexandra Fitzgerald (19-5) is ranked No. 6 at 123 pounds and Madison Sandquist (19-2) is ranked No. 8 at 155. The Pioneers have two wrestlers in the top 10 at 170. Freshman Love Daley (19-3) is ranked No. 6 and senior Cara Broadus (14-3) is ranked No. 7. Aaliyah Payne-Parris (14-7) is ranked No. 10 at 101 pounds.
The next poll will be issued after the regional tournaments and before the NCWWC national tournament in Iowa.
