The University of Iowa, which swept three Division I teams last weekend at the Trailblazer Duals before more than 8,000 fans at Carver-Hawkeye Arena, is the new No. 1 team in the latest National Wrestling Coaches Association’s women’s wrestling poll.
The Hawkeyes won 29 of 30 matches in the dual meet against three top 25 teams. Iowa, a first-year program with a 4-0 record, is No. 1 for the first time in program history. North Central College slipped to No. 2.
Sacred Heart, which went 1-2 at the Trailblazer Duals on Saturday remains at No. 5.
