Camacho remains undefeated along with No. 4 North Carolina State

Sophomore Jakob Camacho (Danbury) remained undefeated with a 13-5 victory to help No. 4 North Carolina State storm past No. 12 Pittsburgh, 27-6, in an Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) bout Friday night at Reynolds Coliseum in Raleigh, N.C.

The Wolfpack (4-0, 2-0 ACC) won eight of 10 bouts against Pitt (3-1, 1-1) including the final six bouts of the night.

It was the 21st consecutive dual meet victory for the Wolfpack, the longest Division I win streak in the nation.

Camacho (5-0) had all five takedowns in his eight-point win over Pittsburgh’s Colton Camacho (no relation). Jakob Camacho had three takedowns in the third period to earn a bonus point for the Wolfpack for winning by eight or more points. Pitt’s Colton Camachos is from Delmont, Pa.

North Carolina State freshman Ryan Jack (133) competed in an exhibition match and earned a 12-3 victory over sophomore Louis Newell. Jack, who graduated from Danbury High ast June, is now 6-1 on the season.

North Carolina State returns to action on Friday when the Wolfpack travel to No. 14 North Carolina.
