Nine state wrestlers in quarterfinals at NHSCA nationals

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va., March 29, 2019 — Nine state wrestlers in quarterfinals at National High School Coaches Association’s (NHSCA) national championship tournaments.

At Senior Nationals, Killingly’s Dan Charron (113), Middletown’s Elijah Cyr (113), East Catholic’s Jacon Marselli (113), Danbury’s Kyle Fields (132) and Ellis Tech’s Sean Johnson (138) are in the quarterfinals.

At the Junior Nationals, Danbury’s A.J. Kovacs (152), who attends Iona Prep, Danbury’s Ryan Jack (126), Bristol Eastern’s Trent Thompson (106) and New Canaan’s Tyler Sung (145) are in the quarterfinals

Action resumes Saturday in Virginia Beach, Va., with the girls tournament and middle school tournaments getting underway.
