Two Connecticut girls ranked in final national girls wrestling rankings

HARTFORD, July 3 — Two Connecticut wrestlers were ranked in the final national girls high school wrestling rankings for the 2017-18 season as compiled by USA Wrestling, FloWrestling and the National Wrestling Hall of Fame and Museum.

Terryville senior Cara Broadus of Medical Professions/Teacher Preparation Academy finished the year ranked No. 5 at 144 pounds. She spent much of the year at 138 pounds and was ranked as high as No. 2 at 138.

New Milford junior Joanne Ortiz finished the year ranked No. 8 at 106 pounds.
