Stamford slips past Brien McMahon; Southington dominates

NORWALK, December 20, 2018 – Hard-fought victories by Justin Leung (106) and Billy Griffin (132) helped the Stamford High wrestling team beat Brien McMahon, 36-34, in an FCIAC match on Thursday night. Leung and Griffin both earned 3-0 decisions to help Stamford win their first dual meet of the season. Three McMahon forfeits also helped Stamford.

Southington won three of the four matches on the mat in a 60-24 victory over Farmington. … Bristol Eastern (2-0) extended their school-record winning streak to 38 in a row with a dominating 81-0 win over Plainville on Wednesday night.
