Jack upset in ACC final, earns NCAA tournament bid

Senior Kevin Jack earned his fourth straight NCAA tournament bid Sunday.

CHAPEL HILL, N.C., March 4 – Senior Kevin Jack of North Carolina State was upset in the finals of Sunday’s ACC Tournament in the finals at 141 pounds but still qualified to wrestle in his fourth NCAA Division I championship tournament.

Jack, the two-time All-American from Danbury, squandered a 4-1 lead going into the third period of his championship bout with Brent Moore of Virginia Tech. Moore got an escape and a takedown with 20 seconds left in the third period to force overtime.

In OT, Moore secured a takedown with four seconds left to earn the ACC championship. Jack, 16-1 against ACC opponents, was looking for his third ACC title.
