Sacred Heart women are ranked in two national polls

MANHEIM, Penn., Jan. 3, 2023 – The Sacred Heart women’s wrestling team is ranked in two national wrestling polls released by the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) earlier this week.

Sacred Heart is ranked No. 14 in the tournament rankings, down three spots from No. 11 – their highest ranking of the season to this point. The tournament rankings are based upon how many individual wrestlers are ranked in the top eight of their respective weight classes.

Just two Sacred Heart wrestlers are currently ranked – No. 8 Aaliyah Payne-Parris (101) and No. 6 Alexandra Fitzgerald (130).

The NWCA also has dual meet rankings and the Pioneers (10-2) are ranked No. 8, as they were ranked in the first dual meet rankings of the season.

Sacred Heart returns to action on Friday when they participate in the NWCA National Duals in Louisville. The tournament concludes on Saturday.
