Two state wrestlers win titles at Reno Worlds

Two Connecticut wrestlers won their respective weight classes as the recent Reno Worlds tournament in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

Newtown’s Brighton Karvoski, who trains with Refinery, won the 80 pound weight class in the 12-and-under division while Simsbury’s Max Konopka won the 160 pound weight class in the 12U division. Konopka trains with the Legacy Dragons.

Killingly’s Cole Lemovitz was second at 76 pounds in 12U. Simsbury’s Jaxson Konopka took fourth in the 8U division at 80 pounds.

Karvoski made the World of Wrestling’s World All-Star team based on his performances in the 12 and under division at 80 pounds in World of Wrestling’s sponsored tournaments — Tulsa Kick-off, Tulsa Nationals and the Reno Worlds.
