OMAHA, Neb., Nov. 14, 2020 – Stratford’s Nico Provo competed at the United World Wrestling (UWW) Junior Nationals for athletes ages 17-20 on Saturday.
Provo, a senior at Greens Farms Academy in Westport, went 2-2 wrestling at 57 kilograms (125 pounds) in the freestyle tournament.
Provo began the tournament with a 12-7 win over Zachary Wright of San Francisco Wrestling Club before picking up a forfeit win over Culligan Schreiver of Hawkeye WC. Provo dropped a 10-0 tech fall decision to Reece Witcraft of Cowboy RTC in 2:38 before being eliminated in a 6-1 loss to Timothy Levine.
