CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa, January 1, 2019 – Wartburg College senior Cross Cannone of Trumbull was named the American Rivers Conference male athlete of the week for all sports – not just wrestling.

Cannone beat Colorado-Mesa’s Payton Tawater, 8-2 and beat North Central’s Rafael Roman by a tech fall, 15-0. Cannone improves to 13-0 on the year and extended his winning streak to 47 consecutive matches.

Cannone now has 28 career tech falls, which is tied for second with Landon Williams on Wartburg’s career record book.
