GREENWICH, February 1 — Brunswick School got pins from Jack Ocken, Lachlan Rosato, Justin Canelli, Jackson Wolfram, Chris Perry, Rishi Das, Nicky Bell, and Harry Fett to beat cross-town rival Greenwich, 62-9. The Bruins won 12 of 14 weight classes.
Western New England University’s Nick Arborio (125) was named the New England Wrestling Associations (NEWA) rookie of the week. The freshman from Berlin helped Western New England beat Castleton, 25-15 with a 15-4 victory. Arborio is now 23-8 on the year with 11 pins. He was won all four tournaments he has entered this year, including the Will Abele tournament at Ursinus earlier this month. … Southington’s Zack Murillo (125) had a 16-3 victory to help Wesleyan beat Springfield, 25-13. Middletown’s Devon Carrillo (220) pinned Jack Kennedy in 31 seconds for the Cardinal before Isaiah Bellamy (285) won with a 48 second pin. Bellamy leads Division III with 17 pins. Carillo is fourth with 14 pins. … Coast Guard finished fifth at the recent All-Academy championships. Owen McClave (133) led the Bears with a third place finish.
