RALEIGH, N.C., Dec. 1 — North Carolina State senior Kevin Jack (Danbury) is ranked No. 2 in the nation at 141 pounds and is off to a 4-0 start with three technical falls. The Wolfpack (6-0) climbed one spot in the latest NWCA/USA Today coaches poll, moving up to No. 6.

Sacred Heart University, under first-year head coach John Clark, is 0-3. The Hearts finished 12th at the recent Keystone Classic in Philadelphia with only one wrestler – Paul Klee (157) – winning a match. Clark was named head coach at Sacred Heart in July. An two-time All-American wrestler at Ohio State, he was an assistant coach at Stanford, Lehigh and Brown.

Coast Guard sophomore Christian Gosch (Gardiner, ME) was named the New England Wrestling Association (NEWA) wrestler of the week. He went 5-0 and beat two nationally-ranked wrestlers to win at the Doug Parker tournament at 157 pounds.

The NEWA rookie of the week is Glastonbury freshman Joe Rossetti (141) of Williams College. Rossetti went 5-1 with four pins and took fifth at the Doug Parker tournament in his collegiate debut.
