BRISTOL, R.I., March 1, 2015 – No. 9 Ithaca College had two individual champions and four finalists to win their first NCAA Division III Northeast Regional championship with a 22½-point over No. 15 Johnson & Wales.
Three JWU wrestlers qualified for the upcoming NCAA Division III national championship as freshman 125 pounder Bobby Jordan (Woodbridge, N.J.) notched a second place finish with a 3-1 record at the tournament. Senior All-American Michael Ferinde (Nutley, N.J.) will be making a return trip to the NCAA championship after a 3-1 record while 133 pound junior Justin Colon (Belleville, N.J.) punched his ticket to national championship with a 4-1 mark.
Coast Guard’s Nate Giorgio won a Northeast Regional title with a 4-2 win at 133 pounds over Ithaca’s Alex Gomez.
The top three wrestlers in each weight class earned invitations to the NCAA Division III tournament.
