Sixteen Americans will be vying for gold at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris beginning Monday, Aug. 5 and running through Sunday, Aug. 11 at the Champ de Mars Arena. It is the most competitors of any nation in wrestling.

Six U.S. wrestlers qualified in men’s freestyle, six in women’s freestyle and four in Greco-Roman. Team USA is coming off an historic nine-medal performance at the 2020 Olympics in Toyko that were held in 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The team is an exciting mix of experience and young talent.

A pair of Olympic champions and two-time Olympic medalists are heading to a third Olympic Games—Helen Maroulis (57 kg, women’s freestyle) and Kyle Snyder (97 kg, men’s freestyle).

Two other Olympic medalists are wrestling in their second Olympic Games—2020 Olympic bronze medalists Kyle Dake (74 kg, freestyle) and Sarah Hildebrandt (50 kg, freestyle). Also competing in a second Olympic Games will be Kayla Miracle (62 kg, freestyle).

There are 11 first-time Olympians on the U.S. wrestling squad.

Four current or former world champions will making their Olympic debut for the Americans including two-time and reigning world champion Amit Elor (68 kg, freestyle), 2022 world champion Dominique Parrish (53 kg, freestyle) and 2023 world champion Zain Rutherford (65 kg, freestyle).

Other past world championship medalists on the U.S. team include a pair of heavyweights who both starred at Michigan, 2018 world silver medalist Adam Coon (130 kg, Greco-Roman) and 2023 world bronze medalist Mason Parris (125 kg, freestyle).

Two-time world team member Joe Rau (97 kg, Greco-Roman) is headed to Paris after coming up just short of qualification status for the previous two Olympics.

Athletes who will be competing on their first U.S. senior-level team are Kennedy Blades (76 kg, freestyle), Spencer Lee (57 kg, freestyle), Aaron Brooks (86 kg, freestyle) and Payton Jacobson (87 kg, Greco-Roman).

Three-time senior world team member Kamal Bey (77 kg, Greco-Roman) was a late addition to the Olympic field for Team USA following a redistribution of allocations. He earned his place in Paris by finishing in fourth place at the world Olympic Games qualifier in May.

Lee, Brooks, Blades and Bey are past age-group world champions with proven track records of international success.

In Paris, wrestling will run over a seven-day period, with medal matches being contested on six days. The schedule is unique from traditional international events in that women’s freestyle will launch one weight class per day for the duration of the event, while Greco-Roma’n spans the front half of the week and men’s freestyle covers the back half of the week. A complete schedule can be found below.

Every match from the Olympic Games will be available to stream live on Peacock. Select rounds, including the finals, will be aired on USA network.
