Eight girls from Connecticut were part of a Beat the Street New England team that won the Best the Street National Duals tournament in Illinois earlier this week.
Twelve teams and more than 250 athletes in grades 7-12 meet outside of Chicago for a four days of wrestling and fellowship.
Beat the Street (BTS) New England won the tournament with a 43-24 win over BTS Los Angeles with seven Connecticut girls in the starting lineup – Selena Batres (94) and Kayla Batres (106), Cecilia Virrelli (112), Shyan Rolle (122), Rylee Donohue (132), Kelly Aspras (152) and Kayli Morris (225). Brianna Seixas also wrestled for BTS New England.
In pool play, BTS New England won all three of their matches with victories of BTS Baltimore, 63-9, BTS Cleveland, 49-23 and over the Red White and Blue team, 58-13.
