LEHIGH, Pa., February 24 – Three Connecticut wrestlers earned All-American honors at the 83rd Prep School national championship meet Saturday. Loomis Chaffee’s Zach Minch (285) finished sixth while Brunswick’s Chris Perry took seventh at 113 pounds. Green Farms Academy’s Griffin Seyfriend (120) of Westport finished seventh for the Dragons.
Seyfriend is the first All-American at Green farms since head coach Jack Conroy earned All-American honors in 2005. Perry went 4-2 in the tournament with four decisions. Minch lost in his second match of the tournament but he won four straight in the consolation round to earn All-American honors.
Brunswick was the top Connecticut team in the field, finishing 26th. The Bruins also won the Officials Sportsmanship Award as voted by the tournament officials. Loomis Chaffee was 32nd while Green Farms finished 38th.
