South Side Wrestling Club takes second at Columbus Day Duals

Wrestlers from South Side Wrestling club competed at a Columns Day tournament.

Wrestlers from South Side Wrestling Club in Bridgeport participated in the Columbus Day Duals in Manheim, Pennsylvania and finished second in the American Division with an 8-1 record.

South Side’s boys team won their pool with a 7-0 record and beat Cavalier Wrestling Club in the American Division semifinal, 50-24 before falling to Virginia-based 5Forty Brawlers, 42-39.

Wrestlers from several Connecticut schools – Staples, Greens Farms Academy, Fairfield Warde, Sheehan, Foran, Fairfield Ludlow and East Hartford — participated on the team.

GFA’s Liam Carlin, Ryan Schneider, Dom Iaquinto and Joe Mahoney each went undefeated with nine victories in the tournament along with East Hartford’s Issac Quiles and Fairfield Warde’s Zach Brozka.
