In week two of Connecticut Wrestling Online’s top 10 wrestling poll, there was no changes among the top five teams. Once again, Danbury (2-0) was the unanimous choice to be ranked No. 1 in the state in voting by state coaches and members of the media.

Fairfield Warde (2-0) continues to be ranked No. 2 but saw a 20-point lead over No. 3 Simsbury (2-0) cut to four points this week. Bristol Eastern is ranked No. 4 for the second straight week while Xavier is ranked No. 5.

Danbury won the SWAT Tournament in Sanford, Maine over the weekend for the second straight year with a victory over perennial New England championship contender Timberlane Regional-Plaistow, N.H. Xavier was third for their best-ever finish in the tournament.

Warde won their own Warde Invitational tournament for the tenth time in 11 years while Bristol Eastern captured their fifth straight Bristol Central Tournament championship. Eastern has won the tournament a record 11 times.

There were slight movements along the second five teams in the top 10. With a second place behind cross-town rival Bristol Eastern at the Bristol Central Tournament, undefeated Bristol Central (7-0) made their top 10 debut this season at No. 10.

No. 6 Southington (5-2), which was second in their own Ray Southland Duals to Mt. Anthony Union-Bennington, Vt., swapped places with No. 7 Staples (4-2). Undefeated Killingly (11-0) moved up one spot to No. 8, swapping places with Foran (12-2), which slipped one spot behind the Red Hawks.

Sadly Killingy is without any nickname/mascot at this time.
The new board of education is working on a solution to suit all,as the last meeting resulted in the RedHawks being rescinded and no alternative named.
